Reopening set for April 1, after the winter season
The Children’s Fountain at Bayfront Park on the Sarasota waterfront closed for the winter season on Wednesday, Nov. 1, the City of Sarasota has announced.
The last day of summer operations was Tuesday, Oct. 31, a city news release says. The facility will reopen on Sunday, April 1.
“Dotted with fun, colorful animal sculptures,” the fountain is a free recreational activity area for children, City Manager Tom Barwin wrote in his Oct. 27 newsletter. “And located right on Sarasota Bay adjacent to the mooring field,” Barwin continued, the fountain “offers one of the best views in town for adults while keeping an eye on the little ones playing.”
