A beach water advisory for the Lido, Turtle and North Jetty beaches has been lifted this afternoon, July 21, the Sarasota County Health Department has announced.

Health officials received testing results from samples taken Friday, July 20, that were at a level that meets both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state recreational water standards, a county news release says.

Residents and visitors may return to swimming and other water sports at the beach sites. The “no swim” advisory signage will be removed, the release adds.

The Sarasota County Health Department monitors water quality weekly at 16 sites along Sarasota’s 34 miles of beaches. The intent of this program is to provide county residents and visitors with accurate, up-to-date information on the water quality at the beaches, the news release points out.
