Annual Manasota Beach Youth Fall Fishing Tournament set for Sept. 17

The Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department will host the Fifth Annual Youth Fall Fishing Tournament at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Manasota Beach in Englewood, the county has announced.

The event is for children 14 and younger, a news release points out.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m.; the tournament will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m., the release adds. The cost is $1 per child, and parental supervision is required, the release notes.

Competitors need to bring their own fishing rods and reels, the release says, but bait will be provided. The presentation of raffle prizes and awards, and the serving of refreshments, will follow the tournament’s conclusion, the release adds.

Manasota Beach is located at 8570 Manasota Key Road on Manasota Key.
