“Thanks to outstanding community support,” a news release says, Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight’s Seventh Annual Corporate SWAT Challenge raised $30,000 for the Sheriff’s Activities League of Sarasota County.

On Oct. 15, 12 teams representing local businesses and organizations spent the day at Knight Trail Park in Nokomis, competing in four tactical events of skill, endurance and strategy, the release notes. “The Corporate SWAT Challenge was designed so participants would have fun in a challenging but team-building atmosphere while raising money for local children’s programs,” it adds.

Sarasota Dental Group took first place, followed by Nau-T-Girl Jewelry in second and Daiquiri Deck in third, the release says. Other teams represented Synovus, Gecko’s, Crossfit Megalodon, Sarasota County Government, Siesta Key Oyster Bar, Cool Today, Edward Jones Investments, Jon F. Swift Construction and Beauties & the Beasts, the release adds.

Since its inception in 2010, Knight’s Corporate SWAT Challenge has raised more than $180,000 for children’s programs in this community, the release points out.
