Sarasota County Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates is reminding all business owners that Wednesday, Sept. 30, is the last day for them to pay the 2015-16 Sarasota County business tax. After that date, the business tax will be delinquent, and additional money will be due, a news release from Ford-Coates points out.

“The quickest and easiest way to pay is at www.SarasotaTaxCollector.com, the release adds. “A receipt can be printed immediately after the payment is processed,” Ford-Coates says in the release.

Payments also may be made by mail or in person at any Tax Collector Service Center Monday through Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Those centers are located at the following locations:

  • Downtown Sarasota, 101 S. Washington Blvd.
  • South Sarasota, 8484 S. Tamiami Trail.
  • Venice, 4000 S. Tamiami Trail.

In North Port, payments may be made at North Port City Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Any business that has not received a notice about its tax or a new business that has not registered with the Tax Collector’s Office should contact the office immediately at 861-8300, option 3, or send an email to info@SarasotaTaxCollector.com, the release adds.

Businesses in the cities of Sarasota, Venice and North Port and in the Town of Longboat Key also may  be required to pay a city business tax, the release notes.
