Sarasota County Master Gardeners will hold their 11th Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park, located at 6700 Clark Road in Sarasota, the county has announced.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to provide gardening tips and help people select the right plants for the right places, a news release says. Participants will be able to choose from among nearly 300 varieties, from adonidia “Christmas” palms to zebra plants, the release adds.

Admission will be free, with plant purchases available by cash or check, the release points out.

Proceeds will benefit the Sarasota County Master Gardeners’ chapter of the Friends of Sarasota County Parks, the release adds.

Florida Master Gardener is a program of the University of Florida (UF), operated through the county’s UF/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension division. It supports demonstration landscapes and educational outreach projects in the county, the release says.
