Brian Loughrey, administrative director of the Sarasota County Property Appraiser’s Office, recently accepted the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) 2016 Outstanding Chapter of the Year award on behalf of the Florida Chapter of IAAO (FCIAAO).

“The FCIAAO is honored to have been recognized for our work bringing relevant educational opportunities to our members,” said Loughrey, who is also the currently elected FCIAAO president, in the release. “Since its inception, our chapter has consistently focused on providing professional development, resources and networking opportunities to our 900+ members,” he added in the release.

The prestigious award is presented to an IAAO chapter or affiliate organization “that has made an outstanding contribution to the realization of education and research in property appraisal, assessment administration and property tax policy,” the release explains. This is the 19th time the Florida Chapter has been accorded the honor since 1990, the release notes.

The Florida Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers (FCIAAO) serves as an educational and networking resource for public property appraisers and their staff throughout the state of Florida, the release says.
