Draft of updated Sarasota County Comprehensive Plan released

Members of the public invited to reserve one-on-one time with staff to discuss the document

Sarasota County has released the draft of its revised Comprehensive Plan and is inviting the public to “Deep Dives” to learn more about the document, the county has announced.

The draft is available on the county website in two volumes. An executive summary also may be found on that site.

Members of the public may schedule one-on-one time with staff and subject matter experts to go over goals, objectives and policy language in the draft, a news release says. Reservations are needed, however, for the sessions that will be held between Jan. 25 and Feb. 17.

County staff is setting aside time in both North and South county during various times of the day, the release notes.

Sessions will be held at the County Administration Center at 1660 Ringling Blvd. in downtown Sarasota on the following dates and times:

  • Jan. 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Jan. 26, 1-8 p.m.
  • Feb. 8, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Feb. 9, 1-8 p.m.

At the R.L. Anderson Center, located at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail in Venice, the following schedule has been set:

  • Feb. 1, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 2, 1-7:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 16, 1-7:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
