Fans invited to watch the Orioles’ Spring Training workouts at Ed Smith Stadium

The first official Spring Training workout day for Orioles pitchers and catchers at Ed Smith Stadium will be Friday, Feb. 19, the Major League Baseball club has announced.

Fans are invited to watch the team’s workouts on the backfields at the complex each day through Feb. 29, a news release says. No admission fee is charged, and free parking is available in the East Lot, located at the intersection of 12th Street and Tuttle Avenue, the release says.

Orioles pitchers and catchers will take the field at approximately 10 a.m. on Feb. 19. Players will work out from about 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day leading up to the first Spring Training game, which will be held against the Atlanta Braves at Lake Buena Vista on Wednesday, March 1, the release continues.

The first full team workout will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Additionally, fans are invited to attend Sarasota SpringFest, a free, family-friendly event, on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ed Smith Stadium, the release notes. Fans will have an opportunity to watch Orioles players practice on the backfields and enjoy games and interactive activities in the East Parking Lot, located next to the left field ticket office, the release adds. Tickets for the Orioles’ Spring Training home games are available at www.orioles.com/spring and at the Ed Smith Stadium Box Office each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the release points out.
