Elaenia Rose Drouin was born Jan. 11 at 5:06 p.m. at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and she was 18.5 inches long.

Mom Rachel Gomez and dad News Leader City Editor Roger Drouin took her home Wednesday, and Elaenia is already “reading” The New Yorker. Her name is inspired by a type of Caribbean flycatcher.

Grandparents Rose and Frank Gomez, and Anna Dinatali, were at the hospital to welcome Elaenia.
