Monday, Oct. 11, is the deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 8 General Election, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent is reminding voters.
New voter registrations must be submitted on a Florida Voter Registration Application (FVRA), which may be downloaded at www.SarasotaVotes.com, a news release explains. Applications also may be picked up at county offices, city halls, county libraries, social service agencies and many area banks, the release adds.
A voter who has moved or changed his or her name, or one who needs to update his or her signature since the last election, also may complete a voter registration application to update the record, the release points out.
Dent additionally recommends that voters verify their registration status by visiting www.SarasotaVotes.com or by calling the Supervisor of Elections Office at 861-8600.
