16 home games will be played in March 2016 at Ed Smith Stadium

The Baltimore Orioles have announced their Spring Training schedule for 2016, with a total of 32 games to be played during March. Half of those will be home games at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota.

The team will open its season on March 1 against the Atlanta Braves in Orlando. The Orioles then will play host to the Braves the following day in their first home game. The Orioles will face the Braves four times during the season, with three of those contests scheduled at home.

The Orioles also will play three home games against the Minnesota Twins. The Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays will each make two trips to Ed Smith Stadium. The Orioles will welcome the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies for one game each in Sarasota to round out the season.

This will be the seventh consecutive Spring Training season for the Orioles in Sarasota and the sixth in the renovated Ed Smith Stadium.

Individual tickets for each game will go on sale to the public on Jan. 23, 2016. Season ticket holders should receive renewal information in late December or early January, team staff members say.
