Sarasota city administrative offices to close for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the city has announced.

Weekly garbage, yard waste and recycling collections “will not be impacted,” the release adds [emphasis in the release].

The regular City Commission sessions will be held the following day — Tuesday, Jan. 19 — at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers in City Hall, located at 1565 First St. in downtown Sarasota, the release notes.
