Monday, Nov. 30, is the last day to pay property taxes with a 4-percent discount, Sarasota County Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates has announced.

“This is one of the busiest days of the year,” she said in a news release.

Customers wishing to pay in person on Nov. 30 may take advantage of the drive-through service available in downtown Sarasota, at the office’s South County location and in Venice from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the release notes. “We have offered this service since 1999, and customers really enjoy making payments from the comfort of their cars,” Ford-Coates added.

In addition to paying in person, Ford-Coates explains there are other ways to receive the 4-percent discount:

  • Pay online at http://www.SarasotaTaxCollector.com by 11:59 p.m. EST Monday, Nov. 30.
  • Postmark your payment by Monday, Nov. 30.
  • Place your payment in a 24-hour drop box by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30. At the Tax Collector’s Office in downtown Sarasota, the box is on the north side of the Terrace Building at the corner of Washington Boulevard (U.S. 301) and Ringling Boulevard. At the South County location (8484 S. Tamiami Trail, west of Palmer Ranch Plaza), the drop box is in the drive-through lane.

In Venice, the drop box is to the right of the main entrance of the R.L. Anderson Administration Building in Venice (facing U.S. 41) and the fountain.
