Event set for Aug. 15 at new Westin
Visit Sarasota County and the Sarasota County Sports Commission will conduct the inaugural Sports Event Showcase in mid-August in downtown Sarasota, the two agencies have announced.
As the sports tourism business in Sarasota County has greatly increased, event organizers and local businesses have expressed a desire to work more closely together, a news release notes. The showcase will feature information about area sports events and allow local business representatives to learn about how to create partnerships with them, the release adds.
The Sports Event Showcase will be held from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the new Westin Sarasota at 1175 N. Gulfstream Ave., next to the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Sarasota. Complimentary valet parking will be provided, the release says.
