Feel the Bern SRQ, a grassroots organization that supports and campaigns for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, will host a March and Rally for Bernie on Saturday, Jan. 23, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. in downtown Sarasota, the organization has announced.

This event will be part of a nationwide day of marches for the candidate, a news release says.

Participants should gather at the bus terminal in downtown Sarasota (at the intersection of Lemon Avenue and First Street) at 12:30 p.m., the release notes. The march will proceed from there to the Unconditional Surrender statue in Island Park, with stops along Main Street, the release adds.

According to local facilitator Mark Manning in the release, participants should bring “their Bernie signs and their boundless enthusiasm for social justice and positive change.” Manning adds in the release that a rally will be held at 1 p.m. at the statue, “complete with a soap box and bullhorn. This is the chance to get your voices heard and let the nation know that Sarasota strongly stands behind Bernie Sanders as our next president.”
