Sarasota Sculpture Center’s sculpture exhibition, held biennially over the past 15 years along the City of Sarasota’s downtown bayfront, has garnered further international acclaim through its first place win with its book, Season of Sculpture, Biennial Exhibitions 1999-2O12, the organization has announced.
“The substantial and elegant coffee table book was made possible by a donation from Keith and Linda Monda in 2O13,” a news release explains. It recently was submitted to the Xerox Premier Partners Global Network’s competition for the 2O16 Best-of-the-Best Awards held in Dusseldorf, Germany, the release says.
Season of Sculpture, Biennial Exhibitions 1999-2O12 contains full-page, full-color photos of the 132 sculptures exhibited during that period, which were created by 96 world renowned artists representing 15 states and 13 foreign countries, the release continues. Serbin Print Marketing and Publishing in Sarasota handled the book’s production.
Nearly 1OO entrants from 2O countries competed for Best Book during the international competition, the release points out. Second place went to a publication from Singapore; third place, to a submission from Norway.
Seven hundred people representing graphics communications companies and vendors from around the world attended the Xerox conference that was held in conjunction with the book competition, making that event the largest graphics communications show in the world, the release says. The Sarasota Sculpture Center book “was displayed throughout these events for the public to view,” the release notes.
