Sarasota County’s popular Say I Do Again wedding vow-renewal event will be held once again on Feb. 14 on the Siesta and Venice public beaches, Sarasota County has announced.

Sponsored by the county’s Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department, Say I Do Again features a non-denominational service performed by a local officiant, a county news release says.

The event draws hundreds of couples from around the area, according to Jonathan Poyner, program coordinator for Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources; they “gather to celebrate love on the most romantic day of the year,” the release adds.

“It’s the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day, sharing a gorgeous sunset on our award-winning beaches with the most special person in your life,” Poyner pointed out in the release.

Both events will begin promptly at 6 p.m., but couples are encouraged to arrive as early as 4:30 p.m. to check in and to enjoy music on each beach starting at 5 p.m., the release notes. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 10. The cost of $10 per couple covers a certificate, a gift, a flower and light refreshments, the release says.

Newly renovated Siesta Beach is located at 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key, and Venice Beach is located at 101 The Esplanade in Venice.

To register for the event, or to learn more information, call the Sarasota County Contact Center at 861-5000 or visit www.scgov.net.
