On Monday, March 13, the public is invited to join members of the Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) for a discussion about the solar co-op that is being organized in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

The co-op is part of a statewide project “that will provide great savings for neighbors as they install solar power,” a CONA news release points out.

The Florida House Institute in Sarasota is a partner in the local effort, the release adds. Its representatives John Lambie and Stephen Suau will provide details about the co-op and discuss how interested homeowners can become involved, the release says. Other partners in the project — the Manatee-Sarasota Sierra Club and the League of Women Voters — also will have representatives present, the release notes.

The meeting will be held at the Sarasota Garden Club, which is located at 1131 Boulevard of the Arts in Sarasota. The facility is located at the intersection with North Tamiami Trail, south of the Municipal Auditorium. Parking and the entrance are reached from Van Wezel Way.

Socials that precede the CONA meetings start at 6:30 p.m.; the sessions begin at 7 p.m., the news release notes.
