Storm readiness and recovery to be focus of SKA meeting

Ed McCrane, Sarasota County’s emergency management chief, and George Tatge, a county parks and recreation manager, will be special guests of the Siesta Key Association during its monthly meeting on Aug. 2.

McCrane will discuss “Storm Readiness and Recovery Facts for Everyone,” while Tatge will provide an update about activities on Siesta Public Beach.

The meeting also will feature reports from SKA directors on a variety of topics, ranging from the effort to illuminate Siesta Village crosswalks to the status of the Siesta Public Beach improvements to environmental and wildlife topics.

The SKA will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in the Parish Hall at St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 5615 Midnight Pass Road, Siesta Key. The group’s normal meeting room is being utilized for another purpose that evening, President Catherine Luckner said.
