The Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department’s popular Sunrise Beach Walks are coming back at Siesta and Nokomis beaches, the county has announced. They will take place every Wednesday through March 28.

“These fun, energizing walks require a one-time registration fee of $5,” which covers an event T-shirt and punch card, a news release explains. Participants are asked to check in before or after a walk of a minimum of 1 mile to have their cards punched between 8 and 9:30 a.m., the release notes.

Siesta Beach walkers should register and check in at the main pavilion, located at 948 Beach Road, and Nokomis Beach walkers should register and check in at the plaza classroom, located at 100 Casey Key Road.

After completing four walks, each participant receives a “goody bag” filled with items that encourage an active lifestyle, the release says. “Complete eight walks, and you earn another incentive, all while enjoying Sarasota County’s world-class beaches,” the release adds.
