Community members are invited to share their thoughts on the future of Sarasota County’s parks, preserves and reserves at two upcoming public workshops, the county has announced.

The sessions will feature previews of the forthcoming long-range plan for the parks, “which is aimed at preserving, protecting and enhancing some of our community’s most valuable resources,” a county news release says. The process started in 2015 and is expected to be completed next year, the release adds.

“We have heard from you, your friends, neighbors and colleagues regarding needs; now please help us develop the direction of the final plan,” the release continues.

The workshops will be held at the following locations:

  • 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Gulf Gate Public Library, located at 7112 Curtiss Ave. in Sarasota.
  • 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Woodmere Park, located at 3951 Woodmere Park Blvd. in Venice.
