The Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department will host a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 10, to provide information about planned improvements for both the Englewood Sports Complex and Englewood Park, the county has announced.

Englewood Park formerly was known as the Englewood Recreation Center.

The proposed improvements at the Englewood Sports Complex are the addition of lighted pickleball courts and the installation of sports lighting equipment on two of the soccer fields, a news release explains. At nearby Englewood Park, two new tennis courts, a new restroom, sidewalks and additional parking spaces are planned, the release adds.

County staff will be available on Oct. 10 to answer questions, following a brief presentation, the release notes. Displays of maps, photos and other related materials will be available for the public to review.

The meeting has been scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m.; the Englewood Sports Complex is located at 1300 S. River Road, the release adds.
