The City of Sarasota Parks and Recreation District is seeking two full-time employees, the city has announced.

The district is advertising for Lifeguard 1 and Custodial/Maintenance Tech III positions, a news release says.

To apply, visit https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/sarasotagov.

“You may apply online by clicking on the job title you are interested in and then clicking on the ‘Apply’ link on the upper right,” the release explains. If this is the first time a person has chosen to apply for a city position online, the release adds, “you will be asked to create an account and select a Username and Password. After your account has been established, you build an application by clicking on the ‘Build Job Application’ link. The application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening,” the release notes.

Anyone who forgets his or her username or password, or who has difficulty accessing an account, should call 855-524-5627, the release says.

“Your application must provide clear and detailed information on your relevant education, training, work experience and history,” the release also points out. “Do not state ‘see resume’ in any section of your application. Use the application to provide details of your work experience, education, certifications, licenses, and any other information that demonstrates your strengths and qualifications for the position. A resume will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application. Applications may be rejected if incomplete.”
The release emphasizes, “We do not accept applications after the closing date of the position.”

Online applications are stored on a secure site, the release notes. “Only authorized employees and hiring authorities have access to the information submitted,” it adds.

The City of Sarasota reserves the right to close any posting prior to the deadline based on the volume of applications received, the release also says.

The City of Sarasota is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Veteran’s Preference, E-Verify and Drug Free Workplace employer, the release points out. “All persons regardless of race, sex, age, disability or national origin, are encouraged to apply.”
