On Jan. 29, free COVID-19 vaccines to be available at North Sarasota Public Library in Newtown

Hours to be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; registration recommended

The staff of the Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources Department is partnering with the Florida Department of Health Sarasota (DOH) for a free vaccine clinic at the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, the county has announced.

Vaccines and boosters will be available for anyone age 5 and older, a news release points out.

Masks will be required, the release adds. Free transportation is available.

“For those receiving their second shot or booster, please bring your vaccination cards,” the release says.

The event, which also is being sponsored by Disability Rights Florida, the Center for Autism, and the Suncoast Women for Action, will feature children’s activities, a drawing for $50 gift cards and $15 grocery vouchers for each family, the release adds.

Registration is recommended for this event. Those needing transportation assistance also will need to register to utilize the service, the release notes.

The Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library is located at 2801 Newtown Blvd. in Sarasota.
