Sarasota County staff and representatives of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an open house on March 22 to update the public on improvements to the Jacaranda Boulevard roundabout, the county has announced.

Scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. at Woodmere Park in Venice, the session is being held in conjunction with the FDOT improvement project underway at the roundabout, which is located at Jacaranda Boulevard and Venice Avenue, a news release says. “The project is intended to improve current operations and reduce crashes,” the release points out. “It is scheduled to be completed in early summer,” weather permitting, the release adds.

Staff from Sarasota County and FDOT will be available at the open house to answer questions, the release notes. Additionally, an instructional video on how to drive the roundabout will be shown, the release says, “and attendees will have an opportunity for hands-on participation.”

No formal presentation is planned, the release explains, so residents may stop by at any time between 4 and 7 p.m.

Woodmere Park is located at 3951 Woodmere Park Blvd. in Venice.
