Sarasota County’s new website launched

A new feature on the Sarasota County homepage allows viewers to click on meetings in progress.

Sarasota County’s website, which has been redesigned with new contents and features to improve usability, has been launched today, July 16.

The homepage is www.scgov.net.

The homepage features the theme “Sarasota County Excels.” Images show the benefits of living and working in Sarasota County and highlight programs and services for residents, businesses and visitors, a county news release notes.

In addition to up-to-date county news and information, the site offers online services and a link to streaming video and quick access to social media sites, the news release points out.

A search function at the top of the screen allows users to enter a topic and search the entire site. A new page format and graphic elements also have been designed to make site content easy to find.

In coming months, enhancements will be introduced to improve and simplify other pages on the site, the news release says. The redesign is intended to ensure that the site is effective and user-friendly.

The county’s website averages more than 73,000 unique visitors each month, the news release adds.
