Crews will continue the final stage of paving Fruitville Road between U.S. 301 and U.S. 41. at night, the City of Sarasota has announced.
Traffic will be allowed through the area, but motorists should expect delays, according to a city news release. The final paving is being done during off-peak traffic hours, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
As long as weather delays do not hinder the work, the paving is expected to be completed at 7 a.m. Friday, April 27, the news release notes.
Last week, palm trees, Florimulch and Florida-friendly plants were placed in the medians, “creating a more attractive corridor for motorists and pedestrians,” the release adds.
The improvement project, which began in November, is expected to be completed within the contract period, according to city staff.
