The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has connected at least five other burglary cases to Michael Sterlace, 26, of 4160 Fruitville Road, Apt. 5 Sarasota, who was arrested July 9 in connection with the burglary on Stone Ridge Trail in which the homeowner fired two shots at the suspect before he fled.
Today, July 13, more than 100 items that were confiscated from the residence of Sterlace were put on display for other burglary victims to identify, a Sheriff’s Office news release says. About half of the items recovered were reunited with their owners, the release adds. Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating other owners of the confiscated items.
