The City of Sarasota will begin enforcing parking time restrictions at the Whole Foods/Second Street garage this week, the city announced Aug. 23.
An agreement recently was reached between the city and Casto Properties, which owns the Whole Foods building and surrounding retail spaces, authorizing the city to enforce restrictions in the garage and for the parking spaces along First and Second streets, a city news release says. New signage indicating the areas of enforcement has been erected.
Warnings will be issued to violators through August; then, citations will be issued, the news release says.
The first floor of the Whole Foods/Second Street garage, reserved for Whole Foods shoppers, is limited to two-hour parking, the release points out. The other floors have a four-hour time limit unless a driver has a parking permit for the garage, the release adds.
