The 14th Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale and EdFest is set from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension office and grounds at Twin Lakes Park, UF/IFAS has announced.

Twin Lakes Park is located at 6700 Clark Road in Sarasota.

At this family-friendly event, attendees may choose from among hundreds of shrubs, trees, palms, annuals, herbs and other plant varieties identified as “Florida-friendly” by the University of Florida, a news release notes.

They also may get gardening and landscaping advice from Extension-trained Master Gardener Volunteers.

“EdFest booths and demonstrations will highlight the array of programs and services offered through Extension, from gardening advice to youth development,” the release points out.

The Extension program is part of Sarasota County Government.

Admission is free, with plant purchases available by cash or check. “Proceeds from sales benefit the Sarasota County Master Gardener program efforts to support school gardens and community projects,” the release says.
