Sarasota County staff is inviting the public “to an in-person informational meeting to learn more about the Manasota Beach Road extension project’s 90% design,” staff announced this week.

The session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the Robert L. Anderson Administration Center in Venice. That complex stands at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail.

The project entails the construction of Manasota Beach Road from approximately half a mile east of State Road 776 to the City of North Port’s limits, a news release explains. It is moving into the 90% design phase, the memo adds.

The meeting will include an overview of the design, with staff available to answer questions and discuss the next steps, the memo points out. Since this will not be a regular Sarasota County Commission meeting, the memo stresses, no official action will be taken.

The meeting schedule follows:

  • 6 to 6:30 p.m. — County and project staff will be in the lobby with project boards and will take initial questions from attendees.
  • 6:30 p.m. — The informational presentation will begin in the chambers.
  • Following the presentation, questions will be taken from attendees, with the meeting ending at 8 p.m.

On Aug. 27, 2025, the County Commission approved an agreement for the Manasota Beach Road Extension (West) project, including design, permitting and construction, the release adds. The board also approved “the associated capital improvement plan and budget amendments.”
