On April 25, when the League of Women Voters of Sarasota County hosts its annual luncheon, the theme will be “Mobilize for the Midterms,” the nonprofit has announced.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club in Sarasota, which is located at 8801 Stoneybrook Blvd. in Sarasota, a news release says.

During the April 25 event, League members point out, “[W]e will introduce our most ambitious campaign ever; designed to drive record voter turnout to the midterm elections by addressing the key barriers that keep voters from the polls. Please join us as we lay out the tactics, tools and resources to Register, Empower, and Mobilize voters throughout Sarasota County.”

The release adds that, during the luncheon, leaders of the organization will introduce the multi-media outreach campaign that Ringling College of Art + Design students developed to motivate voters. “The campaign simplifies critical information, cuts through the clutter and makes participation feel immediate and accessible,” the release notes.

Further, it says, “You will learn about our community partner outreach campaign and how you can join the movement. The League at its heart is a grassroots organization; building our power from the ground up.”
