No limit imposed on overdue items that can be returned without penalty, but materials must be taken to a circulation desk, county staff says
Anyone facing an outstanding overdue fine that has been keeping him or her away from the library may take advantage of the upcoming Amnesty Week at any Sarasota County Library by returning those overdue items without penalty, the county has announced.
Held April 10-15, Amnesty Week is designed to get people back to the their local library, so they can enjoy access to all the services Sarasota County libraries offer, a news release says.
Items must be returned in person to a circulation desk for the transaction to be completed and recorded, the release explains. “Fines will not be waived for items returned in book drops or by mail,” it stresses. However, no limit will be imposed on the number of overdue or outstanding items that can be returned, the release notes.
