The City of Sarasota has launched Breezy Pass, “a faster, easier and touch-free way to enter and exit the City’s parking garages,” a city news release says.

Breezy Pass, which is similar to a toll road pass system, is available for purchase from the city,” the release continues. “It utilizes RFID technology to simplify the payment process” and reduce the time drivers spend finding parking spaces, the release adds.

“It also improves accessibility for individuals with disabilities and provides a faster, contactless entry for employees or anyone visiting the three City-operated garages,” the release notes.

“Commonly referred to as a permit,” Breezy Pass is available for use in the Palm Avenue and State Street garages in downtown Sarasota and in the St. Armands garage, the release points out. A pass may be purchased for all three facilities, just the downtown garages or just the St. Armands garage, the release explains. A user will be able to pay a flat monthly rate or the actual parking fees via a debit account maintained on file with the city, the release adds.

“We’re excited to be offering Breezy Pass and enhanced access to our award-winning parking facilities,” said Parking Division Manager Mark Lyons in the release. “We want to encourage all members of the driving public to look into getting a Breezy Pass to make finding a parking space easier when visiting downtown or St. Armands.”
