Selby Five Points Park in downtown Sarasota will be closed from Sept. 9 through Sept. 30, so a landscape vendor can remove dead turf prior to the installation of new sod, the city has announced.

Weather permitting, the work will be completed within three weeks, a city news release says.

Because of the heavy usage of the park, the re-seeded area will remain closed for an extra week so the sod can root properly, the release adds.
