On June 1, Sarasota County Public Utilities Department to host job fair at Robarts Arena in Sarasota

The Sarasota County Public Utilities Department will host a job fair from 8 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Robarts Arena, which is located at 3000 Ringling Blvd. in Sarasota, county staff has announced. 

“Learn a trade while serving your community with Public Utilities,” a county news release invites members of the public. “Multiple positions are available,” ranging from technicians to project managers, the release adds. Applicants with no previous experience are welcome to apply for jobs, as well, it points out.

“A typical day at the ‘office’ ” includes handling the operation, maintenance, repair, installation, and/or construction of the potable and reclaimed water distribution systems, along with wastewater, gravity, vacuum and pressurized sewer collection systems, the release adds.

The release put a spotlight on the following positions:

Interested candidates should bring their resumes, and copies of any relevant certifications and identification cards, and they should be prepared to meet with hiring managers and other county staff, the release says. They possibly could leave the event with a job offer, the release notes.
