To facilitate infrastructure improvements, full and partial road closures at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Hillview Street has begun and will continue through Friday, Aug. 11, the City of Sarasota has announced.

The planned schedule follows:

  • July 17 to 26: full road closure at the intersection.

New concrete traffic signal poles will be installed, and a sanitary sewer line will be rehabilitated, a news release says.

  • July 27 to Aug. 11: partial road closures.

Two-way traffic will be maintained on Orange Avenue while new traffic signals are installed, as well as new curbs and sidewalks, the release notes.

“To help ease traffic congestion, the Orange Avenue/Hillview Street intersection closure was coordinated to occur during a non-peak time of year” and to coincide with the reopening of Osprey Avenue, the release points out.
