Project to take about 30 days
The tennis courts at the City of Sarasota’s Pioneer Park will be closed starting Monday, March 1, the city has announced.
The staff of the city’s Parks and Recreation District will be renovating the courts for approximately 30 days, a news release explains. The project will include installation of a “new synthetic/acrylic surface and new ultra-heavy-duty polypropylene tennis nets,” the release adds.
Pioneer Park is located at 1260 12th St. in Sarasota.
While the project is underway, the Parks and Recreation District staff members are encouraging tennis play at the following locations:
- Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex, located at 2650 Waldemere St. in Sarasota, where the courts have a new surface.
- Gillespie Park, located at 710 N. Osprey Ave. in Sarasota.
- Payne Park Tennis Center, located at 2050 Adams Lane in Sarasota.
