Sarasota City Hall to close for Veterans Day; parade scheduled

No changes planned regarding garbage collection

City of Sarasota administration offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day, the city has announced.

Solid waste and recycling collections will not be impacted, a news release emphasizes.

City of Sarasota recreational facilities will be open at regular hours, the release notes:

• Bobby Jones Golf Club: 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Lido Pool: 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

• Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee will host the annual Veterans Day parade starting at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Osprey Avenue in downtown Sarasota, the release adds. A ceremony will follow at approximately 11 a.m. at Chaplain J.D. Hamel Park, located at the intersection of Main Street and Gulfstream Avenue.
