Popular event at Ed Smith Stadium to feature area’s best restaurants serving soups, entrees, desserts

On Sunday, Nov. 9, All Faiths Food Bank will host “one of its most popular events”: Bowls of Hope, the food bank’s staff has announced.
“This family-friendly — and delicious — event supports All Faiths Food Bank’s work, benefiting our neighbors who are facing hunger,” a news release explains.
“Each year, Bowls of Hope attendees select offerings from dozens of the community’s finest restaurants and caterers as they serve delicious soups, bread, desserts and more. Guests choose from beautiful, handcrafted bowls — all donated by local potters, artists and students — to keep, while enjoying a modest meal as a reminder of the empty bowls they help to fill,” the release adds.
“This signature event is always one of the highlights of our year, as the community comes together for delicious food and fun while supporting our efforts to end hunger,” said All Faiths Food Bank President and CEO Nelle S. Miller in the release. “As the prices for basic necessities continue to rise, and recent policy decisions begin to hit people hard — especially children, families and seniors on fixed incomes — the community’s support is needed now, more than ever,” Miller added.
Bowls of Hope will begin at 11 a.m. on Nov. 9 at Ed Smith Stadium, which stands at 2700 12th St. in Sarasota, the release notes. General admission tickets are $40; for children ages 12 and under, they are $15 (those do not include a ceramic bowl); and for field-side VIP seating, $150 (under the cover of the stadium roof, overlooking the Orioles’ field, with early entry starting at 10:30 a.m.) Sponsorship tickets, which range from $500 to $10,000, “entitle sponsors to early entry for the Bubbles, Beignets & Bowls Reception, which begins at 10 a.m.,” the release adds.
