Beginning this month, the City of Sarasota’s Office of Public Art will host meetings for artists, business owners and the general public to join in the creation of a Public Art Master Plan for Sarasota, the city has announced.

Public comments gathered at the meetings “will be incorporated into the master plan, which will provide recommendations on implementing public art resources citywide and prioritizing opportunities to best serve the community,” the release explains.

The meetings, which will be conducted virtually via Zoom, will be held as follows:

  • Business owners meeting, set for 5 p.m. on Feb. 15, will be open to all local business owners in Sarasota.
  • General public meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m. on March 10.

Additionally an artist roundtable was planned for 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20. It was open to all local artists, art professionals, and representatives of arts and cultural nonprofit organizations.
