Anonymous survey results used in determining honorees

The Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMH) once again has been recognized as one of the best employers in Florida, earning a spot on Forbes’ 2025 list of America’s Best-in-State Employers, SMH staff has announced.
“This marks the third consecutive year Sarasota Memorial has earned the recognition, which highlights organizations that prioritize employee well-being, job satisfaction, and workplace culture,” an SMH news release notes.
“Compiled in partnership with market research firm Statista, the annual Forbesranking identifies employers that stand out in their state based on anonymous employee surveys,” the release explains. “More than 160,000 participants rated their employers in key areas,” including workplace safety, professional development, and company culture, the release says. “The list includes public and private companies, nonprofits, and government agencies,” it adds.
The Sarasota Memorial Health Care System has “nearly 11,000 employees and a growing network of hospitals, specialty care centers, and outpatient services,” the release points out. Sarasota Memorial CEO David Verinder said the honor reflects the strength and values of the entire health system.
“It’s incredibly meaningful to once again be recognized by our own team members and peers across Florida,” Verinder added in the release. “Throughout our 100-year history, the people working here and caring for our community have been the backbone of SMH, and a constant source of inspiration.”
“The 2025 Forbes ranking evaluated employers from all industries with at least 500 employees,” the release notes. “This latest recognition once again highlights SMH’s commitment to maintaining a positive workplace culture,” the release continues. Last month, the release adds, SMH was listed among Forbes’ “Best Employers for Women,” and in March, SMH earned a top spot in Gallup’s Exceptional Workplace awards.
