Applications being accepted for entries in 2023 Venice Holiday Parade

The City of Venice online application for organizations, clubs and businesses interested in participating in the 2023 Venice Holiday Parade downtown has been made available, city staff has reported.

The parade, set for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, will mark its 47th year, a news release says. The event annually welcomes thousands of spectators, the release notes.

To apply to participate in the parade, the release says, individuals may click on this link: They also may visit the Venice Holiday Parade webpage at All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Nov. 1.

“Longtime Venice residents Bob and Sue Hebert remain as the parade organizers and serve as the main contact for parade applicants,” the release points out. An automatic email will be sent to everyone submitting an application, confirming that it has has been received and is under review, the release continues. The email will include all of the applicant’s submitted unit and contact information.

After the applications have been reviewed by the parade committee, the release explains, applicants will receive additional emails, letting them know if their entries were approved or denied, along with the next steps. “Your application does not guarantee your spot in the parade,” the release points out.

City staff will host a mandatory holiday parade safety meeting for all approved entrants, the release says; they will be required to attend either in person or virtually. “The meeting is tentatively set for the week prior to the parade. Approved applicants will receive details at a later date.”
