Opening reception set for evening of Dec. 4

Art Center Sarasota has announced its new exhibitions that will be on display from Dec. 4 through Jan. 10, 2026:
- Delsy Rubio — Echoes: Movement and Permanence. This exhibition brings line, material, and scale together in a visual language of transformation,” the release says. It “becomes an introspection on movement and stillness, exploring how both principles inhabit the natural and human experience, reminding us that change is the only constant.” Rubio will give a talk at 5 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2026.
- The Collective Lens — This “dynamic group photography exhibition” will showcase “the creative evolution of Art Center Sarasota’s peer critique program over the past two years,” the release adds. “This diverse group reflects a wide spectrum of photographic approaches — from surreal color abstractions and digitally manipulated compositions to intimate portraits, black-and-white studies, and contemporary street and nature photography,” the release explains. Artist Talk: Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m.
- Russ Noto — OF FORM AND FUTILITY: Visual Dialogues Pertaining to the Pastoral of Andre the Giant and Samuel Beckett. “Noto’s exhibition was inspired by the true story of playwright Samuel Beckett driving young Andre the Giant to school,” the release says. “Noto draws from the physicality of the wrestler and the cerebral vocation of the absurdist to create a dialogue of form and concept against blooming meadows.” Artist Talk: Friday, Dec. 5, at 5 p.m.
- Juried show — Paradise. “The exhibit is a visual exploration of utopia, beauty, and escapism [for which] artists imagined and created visions of a perfect world,” the release notes. “From serene landscapes to fantastical realms, Paradisefeatures compelling interpretations of what paradise can be — personal, poetic, or provocative,” the release points out. The juror is Robyn Holl, a visual artist whose work has been exhibited locally and internationally, the release says. Among them were the Visionary Women at the Columbia Art Center in 2019, 2020 and 2022. The Juror’s Critique with Holl will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m.

The opening reception for all exhibits is set for Thursday, Dec. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., the release says. Art Center Sarasota stands at 707 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
