Big trucks will be rolling into Nathan Benderson Park this March for the annual Big Truck Day, “and Sarasota County wants your truck to be part of the action,” a county news release says.

The Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources is looking for trucks to be showcased on Saturday, March 31, at the popular annual event, “which is held to give children and adults a chance to explore the vehicles and trucks they see on the streets as well as meet and speak with the people who operate them,” the release explains.

Anyone interested in providing a truck for the event is asked to contact program coordinator Jamal Edwards at 486-2780 or jedwards@scgov.net.

In previous years, dump trucks, fire trucks, payloaders, bucket trucks and buses were among the vehicles featured, the release points out.

Now in its 22nd year, Big Truck Day will be at the new location, 5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, for 2018, the release notes. Hosted by the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department and Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates Inc., this year’s event, which will be free and open to the public, will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the release says.

As in previous years, the event will include the EGGstravaganza, featuring separate egg hunts for children ages 4 and younger and those 5 and older. Food vendors also will be available.
