On Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nathan Benderson Park (NBP) will offer what staff calls a “great way to get on the water, family-style!”

During Benderson Park’s Rec Days, a news release says, “Participants will have the opportunity to try stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoes, fishing and more.” The fee will be $10 per person for children and youth from ages 7-18, as well as adults without children; for parents and youngsters ages 1 to 6, the event will be free, the release adds.

Those who would like to participate are asked to meet on the ground floor of the Benderson Family Finish Tower. “Equipment is sanitized between uses and safety practices are enforced,” the release points out. Further, participants may come and go on their own schedules during the four-hour event, the release adds. For more details, visit https://nathanbendersonpark.org/recdays.

NBP Rec Days will be conducted in September and through the rest of the year on alternate Saturdays, the release says.
