City of Sarasota recycling collections to resume Monday, Oct. 10

Processing Center experienced power problems earlier this week

The Processing Center to which the City of Sarasota delivers recyclable materials was expected to be back in full operations this weekend, allowing the city to resume its normal collection of recycling carts on Monday, Oct. 10, the city announced just after noon on Oct. 7

Ensure the placement of the cart is at least 3 feet away from any storm debris pile or other obstacle that would prohibit the collection by the automated trucks, a news release advises residents.

The City of Sarasota thanks residents for their patience through operational constraints caused by Hurricane Ian.

On Oct. 5, city staff had announced that, because of continued power outages at the Recycling Processing Center, the city had had to suspend collection of all recyclable materials until further notice.
