Open play will be conducted from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Venice Community Center
The Venice Community Center began offering evening pickleball games on Mondays as of July 18, Sarasota County has announced.
The open play session will continue each Monday from 5 to 8 p.m., a news release says. This is in addition to the morning open play (9 a.m. to noon) and the afternoon advanced play (1 to 4 p.m.) sessions already offered, the release points out.
The cost is $16 for an eight-play pass or $24 for a 12-play pass, the release says. No punch cards will be sold during evening hours, so players are asked to purchase cards during normal business hours, the release adds.
The Venice Community Center is located at 326 S. Nokomis Ave. in Venice.

We are used to “pickle-pusses” during Cleveland Convention, but what is “pickleball?” Sounds tart.
