The Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast (JFCS) will celebrate its 40th anniversary during its Hope in Bloom event planned for Sunday, March 29, at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in downtown Sarasota, the organization has announced.

This brunch will bring together JFCS supporters “to honor four decades of compassionate service and continued impact,” a news release says.

“Guided by Jewish values, JFCS supports vulnerable community members of all faiths by helping them build resilience and achieve the social and economic stability” needed for long‑term, good mental health and well being,” the release explains. “Founded in 1986, the nonprofit began with a focus on assisting local Jewish immigrants and older adults. Over time, it has grown into a comprehensive multi‑service organization offering counseling, financial assistance, youth and family programs,” veterans services “and specialized support for older adults and Holocaust survivors,” the release points out.

“Reaching 40 years is both a celebration and a recommitment,” says Dr. Helene Lotman, president & CEO of JFCS of the Suncoast, in the release. “JFCS was built on the belief that every person deserves dignity, stability and hope, and that belief continues to guide us as we grow alongside the evolving needs of our community,” Lotman continued in the release

Hope in Bloom co‑chairs Marion Levine and Sasha Rosin are inviting members of the community to join in celebrating “this milestone year and the seeds of hope JFCS plants for individuals and families in need,” the release adds.

This year’s event also will “honor Marc and Eve Kanoff for their leadership and years of service advancing the JFCS mission,” the release continues.

“Guests will enjoy a beautiful brunch, inspiring stories from clients and staff, and a look ahead at JFCS’s vision for the future,” the release notes.

Proceeds from Hope in Bloom directly will support programs that promote good mental health, stability “and resilience for people of all ages,” it points out.

Tickets and sponsorships are available, the release says. To register for Hope in Bloom, or to learn more about the event, visit jfcs-cares.org or contact the Development Department at donate@jfcs-cares.org or 941‑366‑2224, Ext. 143.
